At Gidaah Property Management Limited (hereafter referred to as Gidaah), your privacy isn’t just a legal matter — it’s a part of the comfort and trust we strive to create for every guest who walks through our virtual doors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you engage with our services, whether you’re browsing our website, booking one of our units, or staying in one of our beautifully managed spaces.
Gidaah is a real estate and hospitality company with its headquarters based in Namibia. Our name, inspired by the Hausa word for “Home,” reflects our deep connection and homage to Africa, the cradle of mankind. We currently operate primarily in Africa, where we own and manage all our properties directly, offering exceptional spaces without relying on third-party hosts. Every Gidaah apartment is operated by our team to maintain our high standards of comfort, style, and authenticity. Should you have any concerns or questions regarding your data, you are encouraged to contact our Data Protection Officer directly via email at compliance@gidaah.com.
This privacy policy applies to all individuals who interact with our brand. Whether you are a digital nomad seeking new experiences, a tourist eager to explore Africa, a business traveler on an extended trip, or a family looking for a peaceful place to relax, this policy is designed to inform and protect you. Our services are built for adults aged 18 and above, and we do not knowingly offer our platform to minors under this age threshold.
To ensure a smooth, secure, and tailored experience for all our guests, Gidaah collects personal information directly through our website and booking platform. This includes your full name, phone number, email address, and a government-issued ID for identity verification. We partner with Veriff, a reputable third-party identity verification service, to confirm the authenticity of the information you provide. This is essential not only for your security but also to prevent fraud, impersonation, and money laundering activities. Every guest must complete this verification process before proceeding with a booking.
We also use tracking technologies such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to understand how users interact with our platform. These tools help us improve your overall experience, ensuring our website functions optimally and meets your needs more effectively. Although we do not currently use cookies, we are working on integrating them in the future, at which point you will be able to manage your preferences directly on our site.
Your data is collected to provide you with an exceptional guest experience. From the moment you begin your journey on our platform, we use your personal information to process your bookings, manage communications, verify your identity, and facilitate payments securely. Beyond these operational needs, we may also use your data to understand your preferences, improve our services, and communicate relevant updates or offers to you, unless you choose to opt-out.
Importantly, Gidaah does not use your information to profile you or make automated decisions about your eligibility to use our services. Our data usage is centered on transparency and necessity — never exploitation.
We only share information with our trusted technology service partners to fulfil the services you need from Gidaah, such as your booking. We only share the minimum information they need to make your booking happen, and we ensure they meet our data protection requirements. When partners are referred to it is typically to process the transaction in some way (for example your payment for a stay). We may share a limited subset of your information with carefully selected suppliers and partners (we need to do this to run our system and deliver service to you, we are careful to limit access to your data).
At Gidaah, we place great value on your trust. We do not sell your data to any third party, nor do we use your information for unsolicited marketing by external partners. However, we may share certain personal information with two categories of trusted service providers: payment processors and our identity verification partner, Veriff. These platforms help us complete essential aspects of your experience, like processing your payments and confirming your identity securely.
We may also disclose your information if legally required, such as in response to a court order or to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Any such disclosure is handled with the utmost care and only when necessary.
You have certain rights based on an acceptance about attendance. We've tried to make this as straight-forward as possible. Our data: we use cookies - small pieces of information our server may pass to your device to enable your experience to be customized (e.g. remembering preferences). We use Google Analytics to analyze the patterns and behaviors on our website and tailor our content to feel more relevant to you. You can always decline the use of cookies, although we do recommend you don't turn this off as certain parts of the site rely on them to work properly.
At Gidaah, we store your data in your profile. We will only ever share data within the company, we will not sell any personal data or information to any third party. We ensure all our contractors sign confidentiality agreements to protect your data. We employ a range of network security protections to keep the system secure and to prevent unauthorized access (password protected and secure system log-in).
We may store customer and partner data until it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and as legally required by our industry. We do not store or process children's data. We only store data from adults.
We may occasionally update this policy, but you should check it regularly for any changes that affect you. If there is a substantial material change to the policy, we will notify you through our communications with you (through our platform). We reserve the right to do this at any time but will try to do so efficiently.
If you have any issues or concerns related to this policy or your personal data, we ask that you contact the company directly before submitting a complaint. We are committed to resolving privacy and data protection issues with transparency and proportionality.
Gidaah may suspend or terminate your access to our platform at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if you violate any of these Terms. You may also terminate your account by contacting us at compliance@gidaah.com.
